I don’t know if it’s a trend or not, but I’d like to think so; interior design a la hippie/bohemian/retro/global is “in” again. Kind of like our dorm rooms of college days. This is what Christina Gregoire (aka Tina Boomerina) writes about in her blog post about moving to a new home. She says she’s ditching all of her old stuff, including a leather couch and two “stupid ceramic French roosters,” and starting anew with a whole new look and feel for her new place. She describes herself as a former hippie and says she’s dreaming about the eclectic Marrakesh look from the 70s.
If you too love that look, check out her article at Boomerinas.com, “Modern Moroccan: Interior Design for Bohemian (Boho) Babes 2015.” You’ll find screen after screen of gorgeous photographs of lush couches, ornate doors, intricate paintings, carved chairs, Islamic lamps, and more. It’s a treasure trove of inspiration for those looking for the same boho look of days past.
I love Christina’s spirit; she says that her former home was decorated in a flopped attempt at French Country, a compromise with her husband who wanted to use his American Country furniture. Now, she says, “with this house, I’m getting the kind of bohemian styles I want and he can kiss my ass.”
You go, girl.
